Meek Mill, Kevin Hart And Others Donate Big to Philly Schools

Philly Natives Meek Mill and Kevin Hart and Philadelphia 76ers co- owner have teamed up to give back to Philly schools. Yesterday, the trio announced that they would be donating 15 million dollars to 110 Philly area schools for the 2022-2023 school year.

Reportedly, the donation will go towards covering tuition costs at parochial and private schools to allow low income students to enroll.

Just the day before, School District of Philadelphia Superintendent Dr William Hite revealed the district's funding issues and the student achievement gap...

"Philadelphia is the poorest big city in the country," "We have larger numbers of young people who don't have access to early childhood services and who aren't on grade level, those experiencing trauma, homelessness, are new to the country, have special needs, and those who need additional resources."

This isn't the first time Meek Mill, Kevin Hart and Michael Ruben have donated. Back in 2013, Kevin donated $250,000 to the School District of Philadelphia. Michael and Meek collectively created a $2 million dollar scholarship fund.

This time around is the largest combined donation made by any of the donors who grew up in the Philly area.
