Kimora Lee Simmons commented on her daughter Aoki's brief romance with restaurateur Vittorio Assaf, suggesting she might have been caught off guard. "I think she was caught in a bit of a situation," Lee Simmons, 48, shared with TMZ on Thursday, May 9th. "It was a little awkward, but you know me, I said, 'We'll handle it, sweetheart. Mama's got your back. NDA's on its way!'"

Kimora Lee Simmons has daughters, Aoki and Ming, from her previous marriage to Russell Simmons. Additionally, she has a son, Kenzo, with ex Djimon Hounsou, a son, Wolfe, with ex Tim Leissner, and she adopted her son Gary in 2020.
Aoki briefly appeared in headlines back in April when she was seen in a romantic setting with 65-year-old restaurateur Vittorio Assaf during a beach getaway. After the news of the breakup surfaced, Kimora appeared to offer her daughter support by sharing a supportive message via Instagram Story.
On Thursday, Kimora stressed to TMZ that she tries hard to “teach” her daughters certain lessons before they are thrust into certain situations.
She also recently made an appearance on Sherri Shepherd’s daytime talk show, where she spoke more on her approach to raising them.
Neither Aoki nor Assaf have openly discussed their brief relationship or the vast 44-year age gap. However, Aoki's pursuit of a modeling career has likely allowed her to gain invaluable knowledge from her mother's extensive personal and professional journey.
As Aoki, a Harvard University grad, continues to step into the modeling industry, she told Us that she is trying to “focus on the moment.”
“There is so much to learn in this business, so I’m staying flexible and enjoying the surprise of what comes,” Aoki expressed at the time.
