Kendrick Lamar Makes Statement During Superbowl Performance

On Sunday night rapper Kendrick Lamar not only performed but he made sure there was a message behind his performance. Along with the rapper showing dance moves and showcasing lyrics, he also had special guests SZA and Serena Williams.

From his stage design resembling a giant Playstation controller, to having dancers in blue, white, and black, Lamar made a statement the whole night. He opened up the half-time show with "Squabble Up," which set the tone for his performance.

Samuel L. Jackson made an appearance dressed as a version of Uncle Sam with a gold chain and tracksuit. Serena Williams, fellow Compton native and tennis superstar also made a surprise appearance. Williams crip-walked while Lamar performed his hit single "Not Like Us", which is a diss track aimed at Drake, who happens to be Williams' ex.

While looking in the camera and calling out Drake, thousands in the stadium could be heard singing the words 'a minorrrrr'. So far. 2025 has been a good year for the rapper who recently won Song and Record of the Year at the 2025 Grammy Awards for the diss track.
