‘Good Times’ Making Animated Return to Screens with Netflix Adult Comedy

A Black TV classic is re-appearing on tv screens as Netflix is bringing back the 70’s sitcom 'Good Times'. Netflix dropped the official trailer for Good Times on Wednesday and it is animated. The 2D adult comedy will debut on April 12 and is described as a “spiritual sequel” to the original series which made television history as the first sitcom centered on a Black two-parent home.
Netflix describes the show as a reimagining of the TV classic where a new generation of the Evans family keep their heads above water in a Chicago housing project. The trailer gives viewers a close look into the life of cab driver Reggie and his wife Beverly along with their children Junior, Greg and Calvin.
The unfiltered adult comedy has the voices of Yvette Nicole Brown, J.B. Smoove, Wanda Sykes, Yvette Nicole Brown, Jay Pharaoh, Marsai Martin and more. Norman Lear’s Act III Productions, Steph Curry’s Unanimous Media, Seth MacFarlane’s Fuzzy Door, and Sony Pictures Television developed the project. Executive Producers include Norman Lear, Seth MacFarlane, Brent Miller, Steph Curry, Erick Peyton, Jeron Smith, and Erica Huggins, with Sony Pictures Television produces.
The 10-episode season premieres April 12 on Netflix.
