After a five-year long hiatus, Black Girls Rock! will return to television this summer through a new broadcast partnership with Lifetime. The 2024 Black Girls Rock! Awards, hosted by actress Danielle Brooks, is set to tape on June 27 at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta and will air Aug. 1 on Lifetime. #blackgirlsrock

The star-studded event honors the remarkable contributions of trailblazers, entertainers, icons, community activists, pioneers, business moguls, thought leaders, and emerging talents.
Among this year's honorees are R&B vocalists and actresses Stephanie Mills and Fantasia Barrino. Mills, a Broadway icon, will be honored with the Living Legend Award. Previous recipients include Pam Grier, Dionne Warwick, Roberta Flack, and Gladys Knight. Fantasia Barrino will receive the Black Girl Magic Award, previously awarded to model and fashion icon Naomi Campbell.

Additional honorees this year include actress Tracee Ellis Ross, filmmaker of The Woman King and Love and Basketball Gina Prince-Bythewood, activist and fashion designer Aurora James, environmental climate activist Maya Penn, and ‘Mama Glow’ founder, maternal health advocate, doula and wellness practitioner Latham Thomas.
Launched in 2006, Black Girls Rock! has celebrated distinguished figures such as Janet Jackson, Mary J. Blige, Missy Elliott, Erykah Badu, Janelle Monáe, Ciara, Keke Palmer, and more. The award show previously aired on BET from 2010 to 2019.
