Anika Noni Rose Speaks Out After Disney ‘Tiana’ Series Canceled

With the news of the ‘Tiana’ series being canceled, actress Anika Noni Rose is speaking out on the new developments. Rose took to her Instagram page to speak out on the update of the cancelation.
‘Tiana’ the series was an animated musical series spinoff of The Princess and the Frog movie to be shown on Disney+. First announced in December 2020, the project was expected to feature Rose reprising her role as Tiana from the 2009 film which revolved around Disney’s first Black princess.
“Last week an announcement was made regarding the cancellation of the series, Tiana,” she began in a statement shared on Instagram. “I’ve been getting loads of messages expressing kindness, support and overwhelming disappointment.”
In addition to Rose, the film starred Jenifer Lewis, Oprah Winfrey, Terrence Howard, and John Goodman.
